Carolyn Olivia Frost, PhD, B.A. '61

Carolyn Olivia Frost had no idea how much her four-year matriculation at Howard University would expand her horizons. She joined the Howard Players theater group, studied German in Berlin with the help of a Fulbright Scholarship, fostered relationships with students of color from all over the globe, and met stimulating, world-class faculty.

"In my classes in philosophy, poetry, drama and classics, I was inspired and proud to see Black faculty who were outstanding leaders in their academic field."

Frost designated Howard University as a beneficiary of her Individual Retirement Account (IRA). This future gift will be used to establish the Carolyn Olivia Frost Scholarship Fund for the College of Arts and Sciences.

"As the beneficiary of a scholarship myself, and having been a faculty counselor and dean, I have seen firsthand the difference that scholarship support can make for the future."
